NaivetyIf we weren't so naïve maybe we would have fires dancing in our eyes instead of candlewicks, perhaps we would have tabletops spinning on our hands instead of paper plates and maybe we'd have oceans in our laps instead of rock pools  [if we could just see past the tips of our noses]   
If we weren't so blind perhaps we'd walk on the emerald roads instead of the amber, perhaps we would jump over mud puddles instead of walking through them, and maybe we'd wear furs instead of rags and hold out our hands to help the wounded that line the streets  [if we could just take off our blindfolds and open our eyes]

Bioluminesce 
Miscellaneous segments of coloured granite form the base of the pool; devoid of water, yet abundant in glass-like lichen and slightly bioluminescent fireflies, which, just to be particular, would never have been fireflies if they hadn't been burnt in the shadows of candles in the first place  [yes, in the shadows, not the flame]   
Glass-like lichen coats the dappled wings of almost pretty fireflies; sprouting colours and waves of iridescent light, just like the northern lights, spinning and turning like tornados, splashes and whorls of colour which never could have been made without the painters brush scraping over the Bioluminesce
